Digital field development planning with a national oil company
Historic sensor, failure and maintenance data for wells, processing and export turned into a reliability model of the host platform, to choose the concept for an offshore tie-back.
Challenge
An operator evaluating concepts for an offshore discovery with a national oil company wanted the best possible view of the expected availability of the host asset for a tie-back, and to use digital methods as a differentiator in that partnership.
Solution
Arundo collected and structured the historic data for the wells, processing facility and export pipelines, applied machine learning to understand historic and future availability and reliability of the host platform, and built a digital model of the technical infrastructure with actual equipment reliability to simulate future reliability for the development decision.
Impact
An in-depth understanding of asset reliability and expected future capacity for the tie-back, concept recommendations, and a framework for using digital and analytical methods in national-oil-company partnerships.
