Prescriptive maintenance for pressure-pumping power ends at scale
Predictive models that spot anomalous operating conditions on pump power ends and name the ancillary equipment to replace before the power end fails, scaled across the fleets.
Challenge
Mid-sized pressure-pumping companies spend upwards of USD 130 million a year replacing failed power ends. With little analytics on equipment performance, many power ends are run to failure when replacing a filter or cooler would have extended their life.
Solution
Arundo implemented predictive analytical models that monitor system conditions and sensor-signature stability to identify anomalous operating conditions and alert field personnel to the ancillary equipment affected, defined the actions to take with the customer, and scaled the solution across all fleets with event notifications and investigative workflows.
Impact
Fewer power ends run to failure, across all fleets, with the actions to take defined with the customer. The approved figure for this customer's reliability programme is on /solutions: +28% MTBF and $9M a year lower OPEX.
