Pumps run back toward their best efficiency point
A fleet-wide efficiency view that shows which pumps drift from their best efficiency point, improving reliability and cutting energy and CO2.
Challenge
Pump failures were driving high maintenance costs. Small variable-speed pumps were largely run to failure, failure frequency was high, and the customer had a large dataset it had not been able to turn into a solution.
Solution
Arundo analysed the data and found a common problem: many pumps ran well outside their best efficiency point (BEP). A machine learning model using the manufacturers' performance curves, which also detects abnormal patterns, created an efficiency view where operators see which pumps are drifting from BEP and act.
Impact
Better equipment reliability, lower energy cost and lower CO2 from running pumps nearer to their best efficiency point.
