Two months' warning hidden in a compressor's telemetry
A critical compressor failed with no alarm. Reanalysis showed the failure could have been seen two months earlier.
Challenge
A critical compressor failed. Several monitoring systems were in place, none raised an alarm, and the operator's own engineers found no early indication in the data.
Solution
Arundo analysed the same data with a virtual-sensor approach and correlation analysis. No value had crossed an alarm threshold, but an unusual rise of particles in the lubrication system showed the failure developing. That signature was visible two months before the breakdown.
Impact
Two months more notice than the existing systems gave.
